In our home, we love this broccoli salad recipe. It is the perfect spin on the classic broccoli salad but adds in even more flavor thanks to the mozzarella cheese, almonds, and a delicious dressing. You will fall in love with this better for you tangy dressing that is lower in calories without sacrificing the flavor. Make this ahead of time to serve at your next gathering. What will I need to Make Broccoli Salad?

You will need the following ingredients:

  • Broccoli florets
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Mozzarella cheese 
  • Red onion
  • Bacon
  • Almonds
  • Dried blueberries
  • Golden raisins
  • Honey Vanilla Greek Yogurt: I use the Greek God’s brand yogurt for this and it turns out amazing. But you can also substitute any other honey or vanilla flavored Greek yogurt. You can also substitute plain greek yogurt but you want to add about a Tablespoon of honey to balance the flavors. 
  • Olive oil mayonnaise
  • White wine vinegar
  • Lemon juice
  • Minced garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper

You will need the following supplies: 

  • Large serving or mixing bowl
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring tools

How to Make Broccoli Salad

  • Rinse the broccoli florets and slice the stems so that they are ¼ inch thin or smaller. Place them into a large serving bowl. 
  • To the broccoli add the celery, carrots, mozzarella cheese, red onion, bacon, almonds, dried berries, and golden raisins.

  • Mix all ingredients together gently. 

  • In a separate, small mixing bowl, whisk together the greek yogurt, mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. 

  • Pour the dressing over the broccoli salad and gently toss everything together to coat the salad.

  • If you are looking for another cheese option try these flavors: cheddar, feta, or parmesan cheese. 
  • Swap out your red onion for a sweet onion if you want to change the flavor of your salad. 
  • While this salad calls for almonds, you can also use walnuts or pecans instead. 
  • If you aren’t a fan of blueberries you can omit them and add in any of the following alternatives: raisins, golden raisins, or cranberries. 
  • If you don’t have olive oil mayonnaise on hand you can also use regular mayonnaise. 
  • This salad makes a lot. Be sure to prepare it in a large bowl with plenty of mixing room.
