In our house, we are huge fans of dip! Some of our favorites are easy taco dip, million dollar dip, and of course 7 layer bean dip. 

The one downfall to dips, especially serving them to crowds, is the concern about double dipping. That is why I am a huge fan of individual 7 layer dip cups. It has all your favorite bean dip ingredients layered in your very own convenient individual serving container so everyone can double dip all day long!

What will I need to Make 7 Layer Dip Cups?

You will need the following ingredients:

  • Refried beans
  • Guacamole
  • Sour cream
  • Taco seasoning
  • Pico de gallo
  • Mexican cheese
  • Black olives
  • Cilantro

How to Make 7 Layer Dip Cups

  • In a small bowl mix the sour cream and taco seasoning and set aside.

  • Start to layer an equal amount of refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo in each cup.

  • Top each cup with Mexican cheese, black olives, and garnish with cilantro.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to make as much as you need. 
  • When making these individual 7 layer bean dips you can use plastic or glass drinking cups. The key is to make sure they have a mouth wide enough so you can dip your chips and that they are clear. 
  • When creating the layers of this dip, you can spoon each layer into the cups or you can fill a plastic bag and cut a hole in the corner, and pipe it into the cups. This method helps create a nice clean look. 
  • If you want to make your beans smoother, mix in a little milk or cream cheese. 
  • Be sure to drain the pico de gallo, making sure there is no excess liquid before adding it to the cups.
  • Feel free to add in additional layers if you prefer. Use cooked taco meat, tomatoes, or green onions if you prefer.

Storage

You will want to store your leftover 7 layer dip cups covered in the fridge. These will last up to 3 days.

What can I serve with my 7 layer bean dip?

Traditionally you will serve this dip with tortilla chips, but you can also serve it with vegetables, crackers, or pretzels. 

Can I make this ahead of time?

You can easily make these ahead of time. 

You can prep each layer a day ahead of time and store it separately in the fridge. You can also fully assemble the cups up to one day ahead of time. Be sure to cover them and keep them in the fridge until you are ready to serve.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups refried beans
