The day after Thanksgiving I am always wracking my brain on what to make with my Thanksgiving leftovers, but this year I am really excited to make this Thanksgiving in a Blanket recipe.
I love it because it literally can use every single leftover from Thanksgiving dinner and is so simple to make. Just pop open the can of crescent rolls, roll them out. Fill them up with leftovers, bake and enjoy.
This delicious meal is a little messy to eat, but requires very little effort to make which we all love after cooking for the last two days in the kitchen.
How to Make Thanksgiving in a Blanket
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Roll out your crescent rolls.
- On the wider end, spread a TBSP of mashed potatoes.
- Add a few pieces of shredded turkey on top.
- Add a TBSP of stuffing on top. Press down a bit to help
layering .
- Add some cranberry sauce on top.
- Fold up your crescent roll dough. Crimp a bit on top to help
secure .
- Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Serve with gravy.
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- If you have kids that are not a fan of cranberry sauce you can omit this.
- Feel free to stuff your crescent rolls with any leftovers that you have. It’s a fun way to use up all your favorite Thanksgiving dishes.
- Be sure to not overstuff the rolls or it will be hard for you to close them and to stay closed while baking.
- If you love cheese with turkey you can easily add your favorite flavor to this recipe.
- You want to make sure you either drizzle with gravy or dip them in gravy after they bake. Adding the gravy before will result in a soggy pastry.
- You will want to serve these immediately. Of
course be careful because the filling will be hot.
Storage
It is best to consume these right after you make them. Since you will be heating up the leftovers for the second time I highly recommend discarding your leftover Thanksgiving in a blankets.
