Tips Tricks and FAQs
- Using a thinner skewer makes it easier to thread the fruit onto rather than a thicker skewer.
- Feel free to deviate from the suggested fruit. You can really add any type of fruit that you would like. Just ensure that you cut the pieces thick enough so they don’t fall off the skewer. Try fruits like apples, mandarins, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, mango, and bananas. When using apples and bananas, remember that once they are peeled they become brown very quickly so be sure to serve right away or use lemon juice.
- If you prefer, serve these kabobs with a delicious fruit dip.
Storage
You will want to store your Easter fruit kabobs covered in the fridge. These will last up to 3 days.
Can you freeze these fruit kabobs?
It is not recommended that you freeze these fruit kabobs. As the fruit thaws, it will become more watery and create a big mess.
How do you keep fruit kabobs from turning brown?
Fruits such as bananas, apples, and pears can quickly turn brown when they are cut as they are exposed to air. Squeeze a little bit of lemon juice over the skewer to help prevent browning.
