Tips Tricks and FAQs
1. Be sure your cream cheese is at room temperature prior to mixing. You want to make sure that you really cream the cream cheese prior to adding other ingredients. This is the secret to a really creamy fluffy cheesecake layer.
2. Be sure to not add the pie filling until you are ready to serve it. When it comes to the pie filling, use as much as you prefer. There is no wrong amount.
3. If you prefer you can swap out the crust for another flavor. Try using Oreo cookies, Vanilla wafers, or crushed pretzels instead of the graham crackers.
4. You can also freeze the crust if you prefer while you are preparing the dessert.
5. Feel free to use a different pie filling flavor. Try using blueberry or even apple pie filling.
Storage
You will want to store your leftover cherry delight in the fridge covered for up to 4 days.
Can you make this ahead of time?
Yes! In fact, you will need to make it ahead of time for it to be properly set. At a minimum, you will want to make it 8 hours in advance, but I prefer making it the night before.
Do I have to use canned cherry pie filling?
No, you do not need to use canned cherry pie filling. You can use fresh or frozen cherries or you can make your own cherry pie filling.
