Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • Be sure you let your cream cheese get to room temperature. This helps your powdered sweetener and whipped topping mix in really nicely.
  • You can substitute the powdered sweetener for powdered sugar if you would like.
  • One of the biggest secrets of a perfect layered fruit salad is using the right dish. You want to be sure you use a trifle bowl. These have a flat bottom and sides that go straight up that help keep the layers perfectly in order.
  • If there is a fruit that you want to add, you can easily add it. The same is true if there is something you don’t want to add. Just omit it and replace it with another layer of fruit. Watermelon is a great addition to this salad that kids love! The most important thing to do is use a variety of colors.
  • If you want to add bananas, you will want to make sure to add these just prior to serving so they don’t brown.
  • You can easily add a layer of topping throughout the dish if you choose. If you do this you will need to double the topping recipe.
