Patriotic Pudding Shots are the perfect way to add a little adult fun to the 4th of July! All you need is cheesecake pudding, half and half, Vodka, whipped cream, and food coloring to make this fun treat for all the adults. Have kids? No problem make these without Vodka so they can celebrate as well! These pudding shots will be the hit of the day!
Patriotic Pudding Shots
It’s no secret that we love shots and the 4th of July, so when we could combine the two this year I was one happy girl! Let me tell you, you and your guests are going to love these patriotic pudding shots. They are layered with red, white, and blue cheesecake pudding that is infused with Vodka. This is one treat you don’t want to forget to make this 4th of July.

Ingredients:
- 2 Boxes of Instant Cheesecake Pudding (3 ounces each)
- 2 Cups Half and Half
- 1 Cup Vodka
- Red Food Dye
- Blue Food Dye
- Whipped Cream (optional garnish)
- Patriotic Sprinkles (optional garnish)
Items Needed:
- 10 2-Ounce Shot Glasses
- Frosting Bag and Tip (optional)
- Hand Mixer or Whisk
How to Make Patriotic Pudding Shots
- Add your pudding and half and half to a large mixing bowl.
- Beat with the mixer until thickened.
- Add the vodka and beat again until smooth and thickened.
- Break the pudding into thirds, adding the portions to three separate bowls.
- In one bowl, add the blue food coloring and mix, adding more and mixing until the desired color is reached. Mix until no color streaks appear.
- Repeat the same steps for the red with one of the other bowls. Leave the third one without color.
- Place back in the fridge until thickened.
- Add the red to the frosting bag and fill each shot glass a third full.
- Next, do the same thing with the uncolored pudding, and end with the blue pudding.
- Using the frosting bag one more time, add a dollop of whipped cream to the top of each shot and toss on some sprinkles. Enjoy!
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- If you are not a fan of cheesecake flavored pudding you can use vanilla as an alternative.
- Be sure you use half in half rather than whole milk. This helps thicken the pudding to perfection.
- Do not use heavy whipping cream as your liquid, this will make your pudding shots too thick.
- When you are adding the layers of pudding, tap the glass in between each layer. This helps flatten out the layers. This allows the colors to lay nice and even.
- When piping your pudding into the glasses you will want to hold your bag at an angle. The pudding is thinner than traditional frosting so it will continue to leak out if it is horizontal.
- When you first add the Vodka to the pudding it will look a bit chunky. This is normal, just keep mixing it and it will become smooth. .

These pudding cups will store for up to 5 days. Be sure you keep them out of reach of the kids
No, you do not want to add more Vodka than the recipe calls for. This will make your mixture too thin and not set properly. If the pudding is too thick the colored layers will begin to mix together.
