Instant Pot Rice Pudding
We are always creating some of the most delicious desserts in our house! We especially love ones cooked in the Instant Pot like our churro bites, Instant Pot Funfetti Cheesecake, and of course Instant Pot Better than Sex Chocolate Lava Cake. But the other day we were craving the creaminess of rice pudding but didn’t want to wait forever for it to cook, so I whipped up this easy Instant Pot Rice Pudding dessert. I am telling you it is the best I have ever had! The flavors of the vanilla, cinnamon, and raisins just go together so perfectly. You will love not standing stirring this for over an hour like traditional rice pudding. Once you try this combination you will be hooked forever!
How to make Instant Pot Rice Pudding
- Rinse the rice & drain.
- Add the rice, milk, water, cinnamon sticks or ground cinnamon, a pinch of salt, & raisins if using to your pot. Stir to combine.

- Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Stir to combine.
- Turn to saute LOW for a few minutes if you want to cook down any excess liquid.
- Stir well and Serve,
- Enjoy!
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- If you choose you can omit the raisins.
- Feel free to add in other flavors. I on occasion will add a touch of nutmeg.
- The sweetened condensed milk I feel like is the right amount of sweetness in this dish, but you can always stir in a little sugar if you feel like you need it.
Storage
You will want to store your rice pudding in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. You want to make sure it is completely cooled before placing it in the fridge.
When you are ready to enjoy again if it is too thick, just mix in a little milk and stir.
Is rice pudding served warm or cold?
It is really up to you on how you enjoy your rice pudding. We love it nice and hot, but there are so many people who enjoy it cold. No matter how you enjoy it, you will love the texture and flavor!
How do I serve rice pudding?
You can easily serve rice pudding all on its own. If you want to add a little something extra try adding a dash of nutmeg, cinnamon, or even some brown sugar on the top. I will even add homemade whipping cream on occasion because why not right!

Hi. This sounds delicious! Are you using light SWC? Just wondering how you came up with the nutrition info since it makes 6 servings and my 14 oz can of SWC has 30 g Total fat and 1300 Calories and what looks to be higher sugars
Thank you. Laurel
How many minutes for NR? It cooks 10 minutes and then it says + NR. I’m kind of new still to using the Ninja Foodi and thought I need to know how much longer to let it go after the cook time.
A natural release should be allowed to take place for 15 minutes. Once you have let it sit for 15 minutes naturally releasing, you can go ahead and move your toggle to vent and allow the remaining pressure to release.
Im very excited about this particular rice pudding recipe! I’ve looked at sooo many and this one is the one that seems to suit my taste. Will it be OK if I doubled up the recipe? Would I have to cook it longer if so? What should I know? Thank you.
Yes you can definitely double this recipe, no additional cook time is needed
