- Fill each one of your egg bite holes ¾ of the way with batter.
- Place a trivet into your pot.
- Pour 1 cup of water in.
- Place your egg bite mold on top of the trivet.
- PC on HIGH pressure 12 min + 5 min natural release.
- Once you carefully remove from your pot, turn your molds upside down and your churro bites should pretty easily fall out.
- Roll each one in cinnamon sugar. (if you are dipping once your bites have cooled down, dip in melted butter to help the cinnamon sugar stick, otherwise, it is not needed)
Tips & Tricks
- Don’t Overmix the Batter: Stir the ingredients just until combined to avoid dense churro bites. Overmixing can result in a tougher texture.
- Use Nonstick Spray: Generously spray your egg bite mold with canola or nonstick spray to ensure the bites pop out effortlessly after cooking.
- Fill Molds Correctly: Only fill each egg bite mold cavity about ¾ full. This allows room for the bites to rise without overflowing.
- Cool Before Rolling: Let the churro bites cool slightly before rolling them in cinnamon sugar. If they’re too hot, the coating may not stick evenly.
- For Extra Flavor: Brush the churro bites with melted salted butter before rolling them in the cinnamon sugar mixture. This adds a touch of indulgence and helps the sugar stick even better.
- Experiment with Toppings: While cinnamon sugar is classic, try drizzling your churro bites with caramel sauce, chocolate ganache, or a simple glaze for an extra layer of sweetness.
- Check Your Water Level: Make sure you add 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot before cooking. This is essential for creating the steam needed for pressure cooking.
- Handle Molds Carefully: Use oven mitts or tongs to carefully remove the egg bite mold from the Instant Pot, as it will be hot after cooking.
- Double the Recipe: If you’re serving a crowd, make multiple batches! The bites reheat beautifully in the air fryer or oven for a crispier texture.
- Storage Tip: Store leftover churro bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. Reheat them briefly in the microwave or air fryer before serving.
