Instant Pot Churro Bites
Y’all know how much I love using my Instant Pot egg bite mold. We have made all kinds of things like Instant Pot Pumpkin Bites, Instant Pot Pineapple Upside Down Bites, Instant Pot Carrot Cake Cheesecake stuffed bites, even Instant Pot Zucchini Pie Bites. But the other day I was really craving a delicious churro. Since I couldn’t head out and grab one I decided to recreate it in my Instant Pot in my egg bite mold. I am telling you these Instant Pot Churro Bites are my new favorite treat!
I love that they are:
- Easy to make
- Ready in 20 minutes
- Fluffy
- Rolled in cinnamon and sugar
How to make Instant Pot Churro Bites
- In a large bowl, add melted butter, brown sugar, milk & cinnamon. Stir to combine.
- Add in the flour and baking powder. Mix until combined (but do not over stir)
- Spray an egg bite mold with canola spray
- Fill each one of your egg bite holes ¾ of the way with batter.
- Place a trivet into your pot.
- Pour 1 cup of water in.
- Place your egg bite mold on top of the trivet.
- PC on HIGH pressure 12 min + 5 min natural release.
- Once you carefully remove from your pot, turn your molds upside down and your churro bites should pretty easily fall out.
- Roll each one in cinnamon sugar. (if you are dipping once your bites have cooled down, dip in melted butter to help the cinnamon sugar stick, otherwise, it is not needed)
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- Do not overfill your molds. If you fill them fuller than ¾ of the way then when your churro bites rise they will overflow.
- If you are having trouble removing your egg bite mold make or buy a sling. It helps you get the mold out very easily.
- Be sure you don’t quick release. The natural release helps them become even fluffier.
- You want to roll your churros quickly once removed so that the cinnamon and sugar stick. If you let them cool too much, melt some butter, roll them in it, and then in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Storage
Store your leftover churro bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Freezer
If you want to freeze these, I recommend freezing before rolling in the cinnamon sugar in an airtight container. When you are ready to enjoy, melt some butter, roll them in it and then roll in your cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Reheating
To reheat you can place them in the microwave for about 15 seconds to freshen them back up!
Are these crispy?
Instant Pot Churro Bites are not crispy like a churro you would find at Disneyland. They are more of a fluffy muffin that is rolled in cinnamon and sugar. Still amazingly delicious!
Can I add toppings to these?
Yes, add toppings to your churro bites! Some of my favorites are
Cream cheese frosting
