Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • This recipe can easily be doubled if you are serving a crowd.
  • With all chicken dishes in the crockpot, I always recommend cooking them low and slow. This helps keep the moisture and juices in the chicken. Of course, if you are running short on time you can cook your chicken on the high setting on your crockpot.
  • If you are running late, and you don’t have time to chunk your chicken prior to cooking, you can throw in some chicken tenders with the ingredients. Then towards the end of cooking, just take two forks and shred your chicken.

Storage

Fridge

This sweet Hawaiian crockpot chicken recipe stores nicely in the fridge. Place it in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Reheating

To reheat, place your chicken, covered, in the microwave for 1 minute and then stir. Place it back in for 30-second intervals stirring at each interval until it reaches your desired temperature.

Is the sauce supposed to be runny?

Yes, the sauce is runny. If you want to thicken the sauce, mix together some cornstarch and water and then whisk this in about 30 minutes prior to serving. Replace the lid. Be sure you add a little at a time and wait for it to cook because it will thicken slowly.

Can I add other vegetables to this dish?

Yes, you can absolutely add in other vegetables. I love adding peppers and onions to this dish.

What should I serve with my Hawaiian chicken?

Hawaiian chicken is typically served over a bed of rice.
