Instant Pot Weight Loss Soup is an incredibly flavorful cabbage based soup. This soup has helped many shed some unwanted weight fast! 

Can I get an Amen ladies?!! Aren’t we all struggling with the same battle one way or another?  Aren’t most of us either battling wanting to lose a bit of weight or maybe you are just trying to eat a healthier diet. 

 It’s possible, you think about it more often than you do it, so it is that constant thought in the back of your head lurking there and reminding you that you should be eating healthier (that’s me!!!).

One way or another I think many of us have the desire to try a weight loss soup at some point in our life.  Since I have been loving on my instant pot, I thought it only fitting that I present to you.. Instant Pot Weight Loss Soup.  

This is my delicious version of a weight loss soup.  There are probably at least a dozen different kinds of weight loss soups that you can try.  I was especially intrigued when I saw my great friend Carla from Adventures of a Nurse’s Instant Pot Detox and Weightloss Cabbage Soup recipe.  Heck, I immediately put the ingredients into my pot and promptly made a batch.  It was love at first bite.   

Can You Lose Weight Eating Cabbage Soup

I started to do a little research on the topic and it is absolutely true that you can lose weight by eating a weight loss soup because of their low-calorie density, and relatively low number of calories compared to their serving size. 

Is Weight Loss Soup Healthy

This Instant Pot Weight Loss Soup is packed full of vegetables! No weird ingredients just veggies and spices that come together that transforms into a comforting soup. 

Best Way To Store Cabbage Soup

You can place any leftover soup in an airtight container and place in the fridge. You will want to eat this soup within 4 days of making it. Or use your best judgement as to when you need to toss out the leftovers. 

Can You Freeze Weight Loss Soup

You can! Just transfer your cooled soup into a freezer bag, airtight containers, or single serve containers. Then place in freezer for up to three months.

Allow the soup to thaw in the fridge the night before you plan to use it. I freeze in single serve containers so I can grab one for lunch, etc. 

Can You Make Weight Loss Soup In Slow Cooker

Yes. Just add all ingredients into your slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Or high for 3-4 hours. I have made it this way and it is delicious. I just prefer speed of Instant Pot. 

Variations for Weight Loss Soup

Feel free to swap out vegetables if there is one or two you may not enjoy. Just replace it with a lower carb veggie. This is a fantastic way to really gain a lot of nutrients in your meals. 

How Often to Eat Weight Loss Soup

If you are doing the system like cabbage soup you would eat this soup every meal of the day. Then you get 1-2 other foods during the day. Like vegetables, low fat milk or fruit. 

But if you are just enjoying the soup you could eat it for a meal or even prep and use for your lunches. It is a delicious soup that will help you to feel full and is a low carb option.

I don’t particularly recommend eating just this soup for 7 days to shed some weight. That is up to you.

Instant Pot Weight Loss Soup

Total Time: 18 minutes

A delicious Instant Pot weight Loss Soup that will help you lose some weight.  It is proven that weight loss soups can help and this is delicious.  Chock full of vegetables to really fill you up and satisfy you.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup purple cabbage
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup sweet onion diced
  • 1 cup of diced carrots, 3
  • 1 cup of diced celery, 4 stalks
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 1 zucchini diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • 8 cup of vegetable broth
  • 1 fresh bay leaf
  • 1 Tsp of fresh oregano
  • 1 Tbsp diced basil
  • 2-4 pinches of red pepper powder
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Dice all vegetables.
  2. Turn Instant Pot on to “sautee”.
  3. Sautee onion, carrots and celery and garlic with olive oil for 7 minutes.
  4. Add all the remaining ingredients to the pot and stir.
  5. Cover the pot with the lid and seal.
  6. Seal the release valve and cook on manual for 5 minutes.
  7. Once done you may quick release the steam carefully then remove the lid.
  8. Enjoy!
