You could even go a step further and add shredded cheese on top once done and toss on an air fryer lid to crisp up cheese or toss in the oven.

Even my picky eaters gobbled this up and asked for a second helping.

What Is The Best Rice To Use

Reach for a long-grain white rice for this rice dish. I used white rice. It works great with the liquid to rice ratio.

If you opt to reach for different rice like brown rice you will need to adjust the recipe properly so you get the rice fully cooked.

How to Make Instant Pot Cheesy Broccoli Rice

You will cook your rice and liquid as directed in the printable recipe card below, then do a quick release and add in your broccoli and extra broth.

Continue cooking and follow by another quick release. Stir in heavy cream and cheese.

What If I Don’t Have Heavy Cream

No worries you can use milk and flour mixed to create your own mix to stir in, the exact ratio is in the recipe card!

I always forget to buy heavy cream so making mine this way works in a pinch when you need it.

Can I Add Chicken To Rice

If you have some pre-cooked chicken you want to add in go ahead. Diced or shredded chicken would work for this.

Or you can dice up raw chicken and sauté first and then go to cook rice and follow the recipe that way.

This would make it a complete meal. Check out my Duo Crisp Chicken Broccoli Cheddar Rice!

How To Store Leftover Cheesy Rice

You can store this rice dish in the fridge for up to 5 days. Now if you add chicken to it you will want to only store it for up to three days.

Cheesy Broccoli Rice

This is great warmed up in the microwave, toss it in the oven for a quick reheat and more. Or if you prefer eat it cold.

Sunday 31st of July 2022

I made this recipe today. I followed the instructions precisely. The rice burned after adding it and the broth. I threw it out and started over. The rice burned again after adding the broth and broccoli. I ended up dumping everything in a pot and cooking it on the stove top.
