Tips & Tricks

  1. Selecting the Best Strawberries: Choose ripe, sweet strawberries for the best flavor. Look for berries that are firm, brightly colored, and without any signs of mold or bruising. If possible, opt for locally grown strawberries when they are in season for optimal freshness.
  2. Prepping the Strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold running water and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel before dicing them. Remove the stems and hulls before dicing to ensure a smooth texture in your jam.
  3. Proper Storage: Store your homemade strawberry jam in clean, airtight jars in the refrigerator. It will keep well for about 5 to 7 days. If you’d like to store it for longer, consider freezing it in freezer-safe containers for up to several months.
  4. Creative Serving Ideas: Besides spreading it on toast or biscuits, get creative with how you use your strawberry jam. Use it as a topping for yogurt, oatmeal, or ice cream. You can also use it as a filling for cakes, cupcakes, or thumbprint cookies for a burst of fruity flavor.
