Is a vanilla latte sweet?
A vanilla latte has some sweetness to it but is not overly sweet. If you want more sweetness, add more vanilla syrup. If you want a little less sweetness use less vanilla.

- Pour the hot milk into your coffee cup first, reserving the foam.
- Top off with foam.
- Finish with whipped cream.
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- Be sure you use vanilla syrup and not vanilla extract. It is very different. You can find vanilla syrup at your local grocery store.
- If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can use Instant Espresso.
- Whipping cream or a drizzle of caramel is a delicious topping to your vanilla latte. You can also add a drizzle of vanilla bean syrup.
- You can make a dairy free vanilla latte. I recommend using oat milk or almond milk.
Storage
You will want to enjoy your homemade vanilla latte right away. We don’t recommend saving it for later.
If you do choose to save it, place it in the fridge covered and heat it back up to your desired temperature.
Can I still make this without a milk frother?
Yes, you can get the same effect that you get at the coffee shop without a milk frother. Heat your milk with the vanilla syrup and then use an immersion blender to create the foam prior to pouring it into the cup.
You can also use a mason jar with a lid and shake it until it froths.
