This Eggnog Latte recipe is a holiday favorite. You will love just how easy it is to make in the comfort of your own home that combines eggnog, milk, espresso, and a little bit of sugar to make a tasty drink to enjoy all season long.

With winter just around the corner, it is time to put our pumpkin spice latte recipe away and pull out our eggnog latte recipes. Eggnog Lattes have always had a special place in my heart. To me, it is the start of the Christmas season. Many times I have shopped for the holidays with my eggnog latte in one hand and piling my cart high with the other. Of course, I used to stop by Starbucks on my way and grab one until I realized that I could make a copycat Starbucks Eggnog Latte even better at home! You will absolutely love this creamy sweet coffee drink made right at home whenever you feel like it. Pair it with one of our eggnog donuts for an extra special treat to enjoy!

How to make an Eggnog Latte at home

  • Add eggnog, milk, brown sugar, and nutmeg to a medium saucepan. Heat over medium

low heat, whisking frequently until mixture is hot and starts to steam, about 10 minutes.

Pour into a milk frothing pitcher and blend with a milk frother until it’s foamy.

  • While the eggnog mixture is heating up, brew espresso in either an espresso machine or

a stovetop espresso maker.

  • Add two tablespoons of espresso to a latte mug. Pour frothed eggnog mixture on top

(make sure to save room for whipped cream, if using). Top with whipped cream and nutmeg.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • If you have a Stovetop Espresso Maker it works great for this recipe. I brew a full pot of Espresso and then I use 2 Tablespoons for this recipe. I then store the leftovers in the fridge to make this recipe over and over again or use it for another recipe.
  • Depending on the size of your cup this recipe makes 1-2 servings. 
  • Enjoy your eggnog latte right away for best results. 
  • If you want your eggnog latte to be less sweet you can omit the brown sugar. 
  • If you want a stronger coffee flavor feel free to add in an additional 2 Tablespoons of espresso.

Can I use homemade eggnog in my eggnog latte?

Yes, you can make this latte with homemade eggnog. I usually use store bought eggnog because it is super convenient, but using homemade eggnog works great as well. 

How can I froth milk without a milk frother?

If you don’t have a milk frother you can still froth your milk. Add your eggnog mixture to a large jar with a lid and shake vigorously.

Can I use regular coffee if I don’t have an espresso maker?

Yes, you can use regular coffee for this recipe. Opt for a dark roast coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup eggnog
  • ½ cup milk (2%)
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons brewed espresso
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, nutmeg, cinnamon

Instructions

    1. Add eggnog, milk, brown sugar, and nutmeg to a medium saucepan. Heat over medium low heat, whisking frequently until mixture is hot and starts to steam, about 10 minutes. Pour into a milk frothing pitcher and blend with a milk frother until it’s foamy.
    2. While the eggnog mixture is heating up, brew espresso in either an espresso machine or a stovetop espresso maker.
