Tips Tricks and FAQs
- If you would rather cook your cornish game hen in the basket rather than the rotisserie spit you can! Just prep your chicken with butter and seasoning and place in your basket. Use the roast function set at 360° for 1 hour.
- You can also place your hen on the tray instead. Roast it for 380° for 50 minutes. Be sure to flip it at 25 minutes for it to cook evenly.
- Be sure you season the entire chicken. This helps infuse it with huge amounts of flavor. My favorite way to season it is to rub the seasoning all over it with my hands to ensure that I don’t miss any portion of it.
Storage
Your hens will last in the fridge for up to 4 days. Be sure they are covered or in an airtight container to stay fresh.
How many people does a cornish game hen serve?
The serving size of a cornish game hen is 2.
How can I remove the game hen from the Instant Vortex Plus without altering it for a beautiful presentation?
Typically you will use tongs to remove your game hen, however, if it is really juicy and moist you might find that it will fall apart. If this is the case, let it rest in the Air Fryer for a minute or two until you can remove it carefully with your hand. Be sure to still allow it to rest.

This was helpful!! I used 2 and ysed the trays so the different versions was helpful. I ended up using the juices to baste as well.
Big question, stumped for an answer. I have a game hen that’s similar to cornish hens only it’s double the size, 6 pounds. I would like to use the Vortex to air fry this hen using the trays. I can’t find any answers and seeing as I always use your tips and suggestions that are great, I’m asking you or anyone out here if they have a recipe suggestion. Thank you very much for your time and help with making me a wonderful cook.
Great recipe!
I suggest just tossing in 2 lemon slices and 4-5 cloves of garlic into the cavity and making sure to pin those legs down!
