What will I need to make French Toast Casserole with Cream Cheese?
You will need the following ingredients:
- French bread, stale
- brown sugar
- stick butter
- block cream cheese, softened
- confectioners sugar
- large eggs
- milk
- vanilla
- granulated sugar
- cinnamon (divided)
You will need the following supplies:
- 9×13 casserole dish
- Mixer
- Small saucepan
- Medium bowl
- Small bowl
- Large bowl
- Mixing spoon
How to Make French Toast Casserole with Cream Cheese
- Grease the bottom and sides of a 9×13 inch casserole dish and spread French bread cubes out in an even layer over the bottom of the dish.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until the brown sugar has dissolved into the butter.
- Pour the butter mixture over the bread cubes and move the bread cubes around to soak up any extra butter mixture.
- In a medium bowl beat cream cheese and confectioners sugar until very smooth and then drop tablespoons of cream cheese randomly over bread cubes.
- In a large bowl beat eggs, milk, and vanilla until well blended, and pour over bread cubes and cream cheese.
- Refrigerate for 5-10 hours (overnight)
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
- In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
- Bake for 15 minutes covered tightly with aluminum foil and then for 30 minutes uncovered.
- Serve warm with or without syrup.

Storage
You will want to store your french toast casserole in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Can you freeze french toast casserole?
Yes! You can freeze french toast casserole. Let it completely cool and then wrap it in plastic and then again in foil. Place this in the freezer for up to 3 months.
When you are ready to enjoy, thaw in the fridge and reheat in the oven.
You can also freeze this prior to baking as well.

The great thing about this french toast casserole is that you can make it ahead of time, in fact, you want to! It is best to let it sit in the fridge for at least 5 hours. I like to make mine and let it sit in the fridge overnight.

- 1 (8oz) block cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup confectioners sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1 ¾ cup milk
- 3 teaspoons vanilla
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cinnamon (divided)
