Bread Machine Banana Bread
I love easy recipes that take very little effort, but taste great! That is probably why I am a huge fan of bread machine breads like our bread machine cheese bread, our bread machine potato bread, and of course this bread machine banana bread recipe. For most bread machine recipes it is as easy as adding the ingredients, giving them a quick mix and the bread machine does the rest. The end result is a perfect no fail loaf of bread that your family will love.
You will love this banana bread cooked in your bread machine for so many reasons.

- Super flavorful and is a family favorite.
1 ½ cup all purpose flour
⅔ cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
⅓ cup vegetable or canola oil
2 large eggs
¼ cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mashed ripe banana, about 2 medium bananas
⅓ cup finely chopped pecans (optional)
How to Make Bread Machine Banana Bread
- Place the ingredients into the electric bread machine in the order listed EXCEPT the banana and pecans.
- Program the bread machine using the “cake” cycle.
- About 5 minutes into the mixing, pause the machine. Scrape down the sides and add the banana and pecans.
- Allow the bread machine to resume the baking cycle and cook until the cycle is completed.
- Check the bread for doneness by inserting a bamboo skewer into the middle of the bread. If the bamboo skewer is sticky when removed, close the bread machine and allow the cake to rest inside the warm machine for another 10 minutes.
- When the banana bread is done, carefully remove the pan from the bread machine and place it on a wire rack to cool for approximately 10 minutes before removing the bread from the pan and allowing it to cool on the wire rack completely.
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- You can add the pecans and bananas at any time during the mixing process, you just need to add them prior to the bread baking. If you add them in later you will need to stir the batter a few times manually.
- Swap out the pecans for walnuts or omit them completely.
- Be sure you use really ripe bananas. This is the secret to flavorful banana bread.
- Feel free to add other favorites like craisins or chocolate chips.
- Let your bread cool prior to trying to remove it from the pan so it doesn’t fall apart. Once you remove it, let it cool completely before cutting to prevent it from crumbling.
Storage
You will want to store your bread at room temperature for up to 4 days in an airtight container.
