Ingredients
1 ½ cups milk chocolate chips
2/3 cup peanut butter chips
1 (5 ounce) container fried chow mein noodles

How to Make Birds Nest Cookies
- Line a baking pan with parchment paper or waxed paper.
- Combine the milk chocolate chips and peanut butter chips in a double boiler over boiling water. Stir until melted and smooth, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Combine melted chocolate and peanut butter chips with chow mein noodles in a medium sized bowl. Stir until well coated.
- Use a large spoon to scoop the mixture out and onto the baking pan.
- Form the mixture into nest shaped cookies, making a well in the middle to place your malted milk eggs.
- Let the chocolate set out or in the freezer before serving.
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- If you prefer, you can melt your chocolate chips and peanut butter chips in the microwave. Heat up in 30-second intervals and stir in between.
- Swap out the peanut butter chips for butterscotch chips if you prefer.
- If you prefer, you can use white chocolate instead of milk chocolate.
- Each bird nest cookie should use about 2 Tablespoons of cookie mixture. It works great to use the back of the spoon to shape the inside of the nest to put the eggs inside it.
- Double the batch if you are feeding a crowd.
- Be sure to let the cookies set prior to serving. It will take about 2 hours letting them set at room temperature. If you are in a hurry you can set them in the fridge or freezer.
