Teriyaki chicken is a go-to dish in our family! Whether we are picking it up and bringing it home or making it at home, it is one of our favorites, especially when we use this Air fryer Teriyaki Chicken Recipe. 

So often Teriyaki Chicken intimidates people, but I promise you, this dish is so easy that you won’t want to go grab your favorite Teriyaki Chicken from the restaurant anymore because this recipe will be so much better.

With just a few basic ingredients and 25 minutes of cooking time, you can create your very own teriyaki chicken to make at home.

How to make Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken

  • Mix all of the marinade ingredients together. Mix well.
  • Reserve some marinade for basting while cooking.
  • Add your thighs in with the marinade or put in a Ziploc together and allow to marinate for 30 minutes.

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees. 
  • Give a spritz with avocado oil.
  • Add in your thighs.
  • Cook approximately 25 minutes, flipping halfway.

  • Make sure the internal temperature has reached 165 degrees.

Tips Tricks and FAQS

  • You can easily double the recipe if you choose. 
  • Be sure when you are Air Frying your chicken you leave enough space in between the pieces so that the air can circulate around it. 
  • Chicken thighs are full of so much flavor, but you can easily swap them out for a boneless skinless chicken if you choose. 

Storage

You will want to store your leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. 

Freezer

If you love Teriyaki chicken you can easily make a batch to freeze or free your leftovers. Let your chicken completely cool then add it to a freezer-safe plastic bag and store for about 3 months.

Can you put raw chicken in the Air Fryer?

Yes, you can put raw chicken in the Air Fryer. Season or marinate your chicken and cook at 280 degrees. 

Can you put marinated meat in the Air Fryer?

Yes, you can absolutely put marinated meat in the Air Fryer. It helps seal in moisture and flavor!

What can I serve with Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken?

We love to serve this dish over rice (white or brown) with a steamed vegetable on the side. We usually opt for broccoli because it always seems like the perfect combination.

Ingredients

  • *4 bone in or no bone chicken thighs
  • ¼ Cup White Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 TBSP Cider Vinegar
  • ½ TBSP Water
  • 1 TBSP Minced Garlic
  • ¼ TSP Ground Ginger

Instructions

    1. Mix all of the marinade ingredients together. Mix well.
    2. Reserve some marinade for basting while cooking.
    3. Add your thighs in with the marinade or put in a Ziploc together and allow to marinate for 30 minutes.
    4. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees.

*Wings will require about 25-30 minutes to cook. Check internal temperature.
