It is simple, quick, and full of so much flavor. I love that there is no waiting for water to boil and I can serve my family a great comfort dish in less than 15 minutes.

This dish is incredibly easy to make in the Instant Pot! It really is a one-pot wonder with no need to wait for the water to boil or even drain the pasta after cooking it. You will love this new way to make this dish!

How to Make Instant Pot Creamy Sausage Pasta

  • Turn your pot to saute.
  • Add in EVOO to the pot, once it is warmed add in the garlic and onions.  Allow to saute a few minutes.

  • Add in ground sausage, breaking it up if needed.  Allow the sausage to start to brown.  
  • Add in the pasta on top..

  • Pour in 3 cups of chicken broth.

  • Cover with the lid.  Turn toggle to seal. 
  • Press manual button and set time for 4 min HIGH.
  • Do a quick release.
  • Turn to saute LOW
  • Add in the heavy cream. Mix well to combine.

  • Allow it to saute for a few minutes to thicken up the heavy cream.

  • Add in fresh spinach

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • Use any pasta that you choose. I opt for a bite size pasta. 
  • You can easily make this gluten free by using gluten free pasta and chicken broth. This might alter your cooking time a bit. 
  • Add even more flavor by halving cherry tomatoes and tossing them in when you add the parmesan cheese. 
  • Choose the sausage that fits your family’s taste. If you love a little heat be sure to use spicy sausage. 
  • If you prefer beef you can swap out the sausage for ground beef.

Storage

You will want to store your leftover pasta in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Can I make this dish without an Instant Pot?

Yes, you can make creamy sausage Pasta without an Instant Pot. You will want to cook the noodles as directed and make the sausage sauce ingredients in a separate pan. Once your noodles are cooked, drain and then mix together with your sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Ground Italian Sausage, sweet or hot
  • 1 Pound Pasta of Choice
  • 1 TBSP EVOO
  • 1 Small Onion, diced
  • 1 TBSP Minced Garlic
  • 3 Cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 Cups Fresh Baby Spinach
  • 1 Cup Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

    1. Turn your pot to saute.
    2. Add EVOO to the pot, once it is warmed add in the garlic and onions.  Allow sauteing a few minutes.
    3. Add in ground sausage, breaking it up if needed.  Allow the sausage to start to brown.  
    4. Add in the pasta on top.
    5. Pour in 3 cups of chicken broth.
    6. Cover with the lid.  Turn the toggle to seal. 
    7. Press the manual button and set the time for 4 min HIGH.
    8. Do a quick release.
    9. Turn to saute LOW
    10. Add in the heavy cream. Mix well to combine.  
    11. Allow it to saute for a few minutes to thicken up the heavy cream.
    12. Add in the spinach.
    13. Stir in the parmesan cheese.
    14. Serve & Enjoy!
