Turkey a la King
Turkey a la King is a delicious blend of turkey chunks, creamy sauce, and mushrooms that is infused with spices that all cook to perfection on the stove. With just 30 minutes of time you will have the perfect meal to serve even on your busiest of nights with your leftover turkey.

If you have yet to have Turkey a la King before you are in for a real treat! This is one of my go-to recipes that I turn to for my leftover turkey around the holidays.
You will love this dish because it is easy to make, yet offers a rich creamy flavor that pairs so good with turkey.
It is a hearty meal that is served over rice, noodles or on its own. Turkey a la King is easily customizable for your family by swapping out the turkey for chicken and adding in all your favorite vegetables. This classic dish will easily become a family favorite that they will be asking for.

Ingredients:
- 5 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 Cups Sliced Mushrooms
- 1 Cup Chopped Green Onions
- 2 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/34 Cup Chicken Stock
- ½ Cup Heavy Cream
- 1 ½ Cups Diced Cooked Turkey
- 2 Tablespoons Dry Sherry
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- ½ Teaspoon Black Pepper
How to Make Turkey a la King
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and chopped green onions, saute until the mushrooms are soft and have released most of their moisture, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook over medium heat for 2 minutes. Whisk in the chicken stock until well combined. Continue cooking over medium heat until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the heavy cream until well combined.
- Add the cooked turkey, dry sherry, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined and allow the mixture to simmer over medium low heat for 5-8 minutes or until reduced slightly.
- Serve the Turkey a la King over biscuits, toast or buttered noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley. Enjoy!

- You can easily swap your turkey for leftover chicken.
- If you find yourself without Dry Sherry, you can use white wine as well, or omit it altogether.
- For a lighter take, opt for half-and-half or milk instead of heavy cream.
