Fall is in the air which means I am dreaming of everything apple like caramel apples, delicious apple pie, apple cider donuts, and apple butter. I have to admit I love a good caramel apple, but they take tons of time to prepare and get ready to serve, not to mention getting the caramel to set just perfectly to stay on the apples. That is why I am in love with this easy to make caramel apple dip. With just a few minutes of prep, you will be dipping apples and cookies in it in no time!

How to make Caramel Apple Dip

  • Beat together the cream cheese with ½ cup caramel sauce and ½ cup Heath bits until blended evenly. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish and smooth into an even layer. (I used a pie plate.)

  • Pour remaining caramel sauce over the cream cheese mixture. Top with the remaining Heath bits.

  • If desired, add the peanuts and mini semi-sweet chocolate chips to the top.

  • Serve with sliced apples and cookies, if desired.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • You can omit the peanuts completely if desired. 
  • This is best served at room temperature so that the layers are soft so you can easily dip your apples. 
  • Choose your favorite caramel sauce when making this recipe. 

Storage

You will want to store your leftover caramel apple dip in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days.

Can I make this ahead of time?

You can easily make this dip ahead of time. Prepare according to the directions and then place it in the fridge covered. About 30 minutes prior to serving pull it out and let it sit at room temperature to soften before serving. 

How long can this dip sit at room temperature?

You can let this sit out at room temperature for about 2 hours. 

What are the best apples to eat with caramel dip?

You can choose any apple variety to dip in your caramel apple dip. I always choose a tart apple because the tartness pairs so well with the sweet caramel dip. Opt for a Granny Smith Apple, a Fuji, or even a Honeycrisp.

Ingredients

  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (17 ounce) container caramel sauce, divided
  • 1 (8 ounce) package Heath milk chocolate english toffee baking bits, divided
  • ¼ cup chopped salted peanuts, optional
  • ¼ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, optional
  • Apples, cored and sliced
  • Vanilla or Biscoff cookies, optional

Instructions

    1. Beat together the cream cheese with ½ cup caramel sauce and ½ cup Heath bits until blended evenly. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish and smooth it into an even layer. (I used a pie plate.)
    2. Pour remaining caramel sauce over the cream cheese mixture. Top with the remaining Heath bits.
    3. If desired, add the peanuts and mini semi-sweet chocolate chips to the top.
    4. Serve with sliced apples and cookies, if desired.

Notes

Note: This salad can be served immediately or refrigerated to allow the vegetable time to soften in the dressing.
