Fuzzy Navel Recipe
I love having get-togethers with my girlfriends and enjoying some delicious drinks. We always opt for fruit cocktails that have a very mild alcohol flavor. Usually, we turn to Sex on the Beach cocktails and of course the Fuzzy Navel. If you have yet to try a Fuzzy Navel it is time to try! It is fruity, simple to make, and the flavor of the alcohol is not overbearing making it the perfect drink to sip all night long.
Why is it called a Fuzzy Navel?
While the name may seem less than appealing, it actually really is! It gets its name from the fuzz of the peach (think peach schnapps) and navel from the type of orange.
Does a fuzzy navel taste like alcohol?
Thanks to all the sweetness of this drink and the fruity flavors, this has a very mild alcohol flavor to it. If you prefer it to have more of an alcohol flavor be sure to add in that extra ounce of vodka.
Directions:
- Place a scoop of ice in your cocktail shaker.
- Add just the schnapps and juice to make it fuzzy, but if you want to make it hairy, add the vodka to the shaker as well.
- Shake well for 10-15 seconds.
- Fill your cup completely with ice and strain the mixture over the ice.
- Garnish with an orange slice and enjoy!
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- Be sure to use a higher quality vodka with this drink. Using cheaper vodka makes it taste like it has chemicals in it. Using quality vodka and your drink will be smooth as butter.
- If you want an even sweeter drink, swap out the orange juice for Sunny Delight.
- Want to completely change the flavor of this drink, squeeze your own navel oranges to create this drink!
- I prefer to use no pulp orange juice when making a fuzzy navel.
- If you prefer you can make a blended fuzzy navel. Just add all the ingredients including the ice and blend.
- This recipe is created for a single-serve drink. You can easily double, triple, or quadruple the recipe. Just add it to a pitcher without ice and have your friends and family add ice to their cup and then pour the drink out of the pitcher.
Storage
This drink is best enjoyed right away. If you want to save it for later it is best to omit the ice so it does not become watered down and store it in the fridge until you are ready to serve.
