Pina Colada Pudding Shots
This summer I have been all about the pudding shots! Some of my favorites that I have shared with you so far are Birthday Cake Pudding Shots, Strawberry Cheesecake Pudding Shots, and our Patriotic Pudding Shots. These are all so good, but the one I am loving the most right now is this super tasty Pina colada pudding shot. Every bite is filled with the most delicious coconut and pineapple flavors and makes me dream of sitting on the beach soaking up the sun!
You will love these pina colada pudding shots because they take about 10 minutes to prep and an hour to chill before you are able to enjoy a little bit of beach heaven!
What are pudding shots?
Pudding shots are shots of pudding that are infused with alcohol. They are highly addictive and you may want to enjoy a bunch. While you may not feel the effects of the alcohol right away in these pudding shots, beware you will.
Intro: Make your summer a delicious one with these Pina Colada Pudding Shots!
Ingredients:
- 2 Boxes Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
- 8 Ounces Cool Whip
- 1 Cup Half and Half
- 1 Cup Pina Colada Mix
- ½ Cup White Rum
- Whipped Cream, for garnish (optional)
- Maraschino Cherries (optional)
- Toasted Coconut (optional)
- Pineapple Chunks (optional)
How to Make Pina Colada Pudding Shots
- Place the pudding in a bowl and add the half and half, pina colada mix, and rum.
- Whisk until the mixture is thickened.
- Fill up your pudding cups with the mixture. I used a frosting bag and tip at first, but then I moved to just using a spoon. It was much easier, quicker, and less messy with the spoon.
- At this point, you can either chill the shots for an hour and then garnish them before serving. Or, you can garnish and serve them immediately. This is totally up to you. Either way, enjoy!
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- If you love the coconut and pineapple flavors you can add in some pineapple and coconut extract. They are not overwhelming but add some nice subtle additional flavors.
- For best results add the toppings and garnish right before serving.
- Top these with whipped cream, cherry, and a pineapple chunk. Sprinkle the top with toasted coconut! Omit any of these toppings if you prefer or add extras.
- You can dump these all in your mouth at once or serve them with small spoons, it is up to you.
- Do not add any extra alcohol. This will cause your pudding shot to not set properly.
- If you use ingredients that have all been chilled, you can serve these right away, but I prefer to chill them so they really set.
Storage
You will want to store your leftover pina colada shots covered in the fridge. These will last up to 4 days. When you are ready to enjoy, add all the toppings that you choose
Serving kids at the party? Make a kid-friendly version by omitting the alcohol.
