Lemon Garlic Pasta
I feel like spring in most homes is busy! Not only do sports start up again, but you have tons of events happening with the kids at school. Top it off with the days staying light later and no one really feels like cooking!
That is one of the many reasons why I love this Lemon Garlic Pasta. It is light, fresh, cooks all in one pot, and is ready in minutes. Pair it with a loaf of bread machine potato bread for the perfect meal to feed your family in minutes.
How to Make Lemon Garlic Pasta
- Start by cooking the linguine pasta (or any shape of your preference) according to the package instructions.
- As soon as the water boils add a tablespoon of salt into the water and stir well.
- While the pasta cooks, prepare your Lemon Garlic sauce.
- Start by mincing or grating 2 or 3 cloves of garlic, the lemon zest, and squeeze the juice of the lemon.
- Take a large skillet, and add the butter, olive oil, heavy cream, lemon juice, garlic, and lemon zest.
- Then increase the heat slightly until the ingredients sizzle and allow it to cook, stirring regularly, for about 30 to 40 seconds.
- Once the pasta is ready, drain it and add the pasta into the pan with your Lemon Garlic sauce.
- Stir in the cooked pasta and continue to cook for just one to two minutes or until it is well combined with the sauce.
- Now, transfer the pasta to your plate and serve with some black pepper to taste, parmesan cheese, and (optionally more lemon zest and some parsley).
- You could also add an optional pinch of chili flakes to garnish!
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- Adding chili flakes not only helps garnish your lemon garlic pasta but also adds some spice. Add as little or as much as your taste buds prefer.
- You can add protein to this dish if you prefer. Mix in some cooked chicken or some cooked shrimp or serve with a piece of salmon.
- While we like to use linguine pasta, any type of pasta will work fine with this recipe.
- Use fresh garlic or chopped-up garlic that you can store in the fridge. 2 teaspoons is equal to 4 cloves of garlic.
- When it comes to parmesan cheese I prefer grating mine from the block rather than buying pre-shredded.
Storage
You will want to store your leftover lemon garlic pasta in the fridge for up to one day. When you go to warm it up or reheat it I suggest adding it to your pan and adding water and cream to it prior to serving it.
