Sloppy Joe Biscuits are a fantastic and easy meal you can make, that is kid-friendly. A biscuit filled with homemade sloppy joe mix, cheese, and baked to golden perfection.
Sloppy Joe Biscuits
Dinner doesn’t have to be hard. If you are like me and want a simple prep dinner, give these biscuit sloppy joes a try. My boys gobbled them right up!
How to Make
Step 1: Start by cooking your sloppy joes. You can either make fresh or use leftover sloppy joe you have in your fridge.
Step 2: Now you will take a refrigerated biscuit and spread it out a bit and press the biscuit down into muffin tin. Fill the center of the dough with sloppy joe mix and top with cheese.
Step 3: Bake as directed until the biscuits are fully cooked. Allow cooling slightly then serve!
Can I Use Ground Turkey To Replace Beef
Go right ahead and swap out the meat to whatever meat you prefer. We love ground beef sloppy joe. But you can always replace the meat to fit what you like.
I make a homemade sloppy joe, but if you have a particular recipe you like more go ahead and use it.
Can I Use Canned Sloppy Joe Mix
Make this dinner even easier and use a canned sloppy joe mix if you want. I personally love homemade cause it is so simple and we have all the ingredients on hand.
But reach for any of your favorite sloppy joe mixture to use for these sloppy joe biscuits.
What Are The Best Biscuits To Use
I just used the classic buttermilk biscuits. You will find if you buy a pull-apart biscuit it will not shape the way you hope it would.
The biscuits with butter pieces in it will also affect the outcome of how it bakes. For this, I recommend just the classic plain old Pillsbury biscuits.
Can I Use Bread Dough Instead of Biscuits
If you don’t want to use biscuits you can of course use bread dough. You can use homemade bread dough or buy frozen bread dough you allow to thaw and rise. Then cut into pieces and shape into muffin tin. Just remember the dough will rise a bit.
The cook time can vary slightly since you are using a bread dough over the biscuit. But the flavor will taste just as good so feel free to use what you prefer.
