Crock Pot Lemon Dump Cake
This lemon dump cake is essentially my summer go to dessert. Add a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream and grab a spoon!
What Is The Filling
I used lemon pie filling for this particular dump cake recipe. Now, if you make homemade pie filling or lemon curd you go right ahead and do so.
I just raided my pantry and pulled out some pie filling I needed to use before expiring.
What Flavor Of Cake to Use for Lemon Cake
White cake, yellow or even a lemon cake mix would work great. Of course, each cake will alter the flavor just slightly.

What Is A Dump Cake
A dump cake is a traditional dessert that has been around forever. A quick dessert, easy potluck recipe, and dessert for serving guest.
You use boxed cake mix for a simple dessert that literally takes 4 ingredients to make. It is so quick to toss together you will love it.
How to Make Lemon Dump Cake
Step 1: Start by pouring your lemon pie filling in the bottom of your crock pot.
Step 2: Melt your butter in the microwave and then mix it in with cake mix. It will be crumbly in texture.
Step 3: Pour the crumbled cake mix over the top of your lemon pie filling in an even layer.
Step 4: Cover and cook high for 2 hours or low 4 hours. Once done spoon up this incredible lemon cake!
Can I Use Margarine Instead of Butter
Personally I have not tried this but I would assume the answer is no. Margarine tends to have a good amount of oil in it and could make your cake a bit greasy and separate as it cooks.
So I can’t guarantee it won’t work but I would stick to regular butter.
Best Way to Store Leftover Lemon Cake
For leftovers I tend to transfer into an airtight container. I then toss in the fridge. I find it stores best refrigerated.
Now you can eat leftovers cold or toss you cake in the microwave for a quick reheat. Either way, this is my favorite crockpot dump cake for summer.
This slow cooker lemon dump cake tastes incredible and makes your home smell amazing as it cooks. Let me know how you enjoy this recipe!

SOUNDS GOOD, EXCEPT THERE’S JUST SOOOO MUCH SUGAR. SUGAR FREE PUDDING WOULD BE GREAT. THERE’S ALREADY SUGAR IN THE CAKE MIX.
