The holidays are the perfect reason for getting together with friends and family. I love coming up with festive treats and drinks that everyone loves that are easy to make! These Grinch jello shots are the perfect adult treat that everyone loves. They are so easy to make, store great, and are a huge hit among adults. Once you make them your friends will be raving about them all night long.

Ingredients: 

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 packages flavored green gelatin (6 oz. size)
  • 3/4 cup vodka
  • 2-3 drops of peppermint extract
  • 3/4 cold water
  • Garnishes: Whipped cream and small red hearts purchased here 

How to Make Grinch Jello Shots

  • In a medium pan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, remove from heat and add in green jello mix and whisk until fully dissolved.  

  • Add peppermint extract and vodka if making these boozy.

  • Pour cooled mixture into shot glasses and place into the refrigerator to set, around 2 hours or overnight.  

  • Top jello shots with whipped cream and a red heart!  Enjoy ☺

Tips Tricks and FAQS

  • I used lime jello to make these, but you can use a different flavor if you prefer. The most important thing is that it is green. 
  • Add the whipped cream and heart right before serving. 
  • You can use any type of shot glass, but I prefer plastic ones that I can throw away for easy clean up. You can find these at the dollar store. 
  • Use a funnel to fill the jello shots easier. 
  • Feel free to double or triple the recipe if you are serving a crowd.

Storage

These will store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Just be sure to keep them out of the reach of kids.

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes, you will want to make these ahead of time in order to allow them to set properly. You can make these up to 24 hours in advance, but you need at least two hours to allow them to set. 

Can you make a kid-friendly version?

Yes! If you want the kids to be able to enjoy these festive Grinch jello shots, just omit the alcohol. 

Can I add more alcohol to the recipe?

No, you cannot add in extra alcohol. Adding in extra alcohol will cause the jello shots to not set up properly.
