If you are like me you rely on your morning boost of caffeine in the form of coffee! My morning routine used to consist of getting the kids to school and then getting in the Starbucks line to get my favorite Starbucks drink, but with me working from home more and the costs of things rising I decided that I should give it a go making my favorite Copycat Starbucks drinks in my home.

What is an Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso?
An iced brown sugar oat milk shaken express is a sweeter drink that has a bit of cinnamon flavor throughout the drink. It is made with espresso, brown sugar, cinnamon, and oat milk that is topped with a sweet cream foam.
Ingredients:
2 ounces espresso (1 tablespoon espresso powder + 4 tablespoons hot water)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 ½ cups oatmilk
Ice
Sweet Cream Foam Topping:
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 tablespoon whole milk
1 tablespoon vanilla syrup
How to Make a Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso
- Make your espresso with a machine if you have one or by hand with espresso powder and hot water.
- While your espresso is still hot add the brown sugar and cinnamon and stir until both are mostly melted and set that aside
- In a small bowl, add the heavy cream, whole milk, and vanilla syrup. Whisk by hand or use a mini mixer to cream a foamy sweet cream topping.
- Prepare your drinking cup with ice.
- Pour the espresso mixture in first.
- Then pour the oat milk over it and mix together with a spoon.
- Top with the homemade sweet cream foam and enjoy!
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- If you don’t have oat milk on hand you can substitute it for any type of milk that you prefer.
- If you don’t have espresso on hand you will want to use a very strong cup of coffee.
- Top with extra cinnamon or brown sugar for garnish.
- If you don’t have the ingredients for sweet cream foam you can always substitute it for whipped cream.
- Feel free to double or triple the recipe if you would like.
Storage
This drink is best enjoyed right away. As it sits, the ice will begin to dilute the drink.
If you do plan to make it ahead of time, store it in the fridge until you are ready to enjoy. Add the ice at that point so it does not water down your drink.
