What to Serve With Breakfast Sausage Biscuits
Essentially you could eat these biscuits alone or opt to add in other items! I will share a few for inspiration.
- Fresh fruit or fruit salad
- Yogurt or yogurt parfait
- Side of eggs
- Spoon gravy over biscuits
- Etc
How to Store Leftovers
Allow your sausage biscuits to cool down after being finished cooking.
Then grab an airtight container or sealable bag. Store your muffins in the refrigerator till you are ready to eat.
Otherwise, your muffin bites will spoil.
Meal Prep Breakfast Idea
If you enjoy meal prepping then make a double batch. Freeze a bunch for easy grab and go breakfasts or mid-day snacking.
I meal prep these and they store for up to three months in the freezer. Or if you own a vacuum seal system it extends the stability longer.
You can also put in single serve bags so when you want to eat one or two grab a bag and heat it up. It makes it very convenient for busy mornings.
Variations to Recipe
- Add in diced onions, peppers, etc
- Add bacon in replace of sausage
- Dice up ham to replace the sausage
- Swap out the variety of cheese to change up the flavor a bit.
Adjust the recipe to fit what you would like. My kids prefer sausage so that is why I opted for that.
But if you do swap out ingredients let me know how you like it.
Does This Recipe Double Well
You can double or even triple this recipe really easily. Just use multiple pans if need be.
Or if you run out of room in the oven, batch cook your muffins and go that route.
Trust me once you try these Bisquick breakfast biscuits you will thank me.
Tips & Tricks
- Choose Quality Ingredients: Opt for high-quality breakfast sausage and cheese for the best flavor. You can also customize the recipe by using different types of cheese, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack.
- Cook Sausage Thoroughly: Ensure the breakfast sausage is fully cooked before incorporating it into the muffin batter. This prevents any raw meat from being present in the finished muffins.
- Drain Excess Grease: After cooking the breakfast sausage, drain any excess grease to prevent the muffins from becoming too greasy.
- Use Room Temperature Eggs: Using room temperature eggs allows them to incorporate more easily into the batter and helps ensure even baking.
- Mix Batter Gently: Avoid overmixing the batter, as this can result in dense and tough muffins. Mix the Bisquick, cooked sausage, eggs, and shredded cheese until just combined.
- Fill Muffin Cups Properly: Fill the muffin cups about three-quarters full to allow room for the muffins to rise while baking.
- Add Optional Ingredients: Get creative with additional ingredients such as diced bell peppers, onions, or jalapenos for added flavor and texture.
- Prevent Sticking: Grease the muffin tin or line it with paper liners to prevent the muffins from sticking.
- Bake Until Golden Brown: Bake the Bisquick Sausage Muffins in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool Before Serving: Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This helps prevent them from becoming soggy.

I love this recipe and after trying with breakfast sausage I tried again with italian sausage, peppers, onions and italian cheese blend. They were amazing. Next party and I am going to make them in my mini pans and serve with pizza sauce for dipping.

Yummy.
Put a little cream gravy on muffins.
Sorry, I don’t usually use bisquick- are you just using a dry cup? Or do you mix it with anything other than the eggs? Just want to make sure I’m not missing something. The way I’m reading this, I see to use 1 cup dry bisquick mix.
Just the bisquick mix itself. You only want the dry ingredient. You will be adding eggs within the recipe.
