There is something magical about those hot tasty little fried Zeppoles! This is my take on pumpkin Zeppoles and I know you will love them.
Tis the season for pumpkin and I just love it! I love the smell, the taste and all of the amazing varieties that are becoming available. I mean really, who can resist a pumpkin spice latte? I want it just for the aroma! LOL
I am getting into all this pumpkin, so I decided to take a little spin on it myself. My family loves Zeppoles!! I mean they LOVE Zeppoles. We have gone to many fairs just so we can have Zeppoles. I must agree with my husband and kids there is something magical about those hot tasty little fried Zeppoles! This is my take on pumpkin Zeppoles and I hope you enjoy them.
They are quite delicious and super easy to make. I now realize making Zeppoles is really no big deal and maybe we don’t actually need to visit a fair in order to have them.
Look at all of this yummy decadence!
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1 Can Solid-Pack Pumpkin, 15 oz
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- Oil for deep frying
- Powdered Sugar
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt together. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, pumpkin, milk and melted butter until blended. Add to the dry ingredients and mix until all ingredients are blended. Do not over mix.
- In a deep skillet or deep fryer, heat your oil until water sizzles when splashed into the oil. Drop the batter by teaspoonfuls, a few at a time. Fry 1 1/2-2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, dust with powdered sugar and serve while still warm.
