How to Make Air Fryer Calzones
- Lay your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Use a bowl or other round object to create circle in your dough. Cut the circles and remove the excess dough.
- Place a piece of mozzarella cheese on one side of each piece of dough.
- Take a heaping spoon full of Ricotta cheese and place on top of the mozzarella cheese.
- Lightly beat the egg in a small bowl. Brush on the outer edge of each dough circle. Fold the dough over in half, making sure you have at least a half inch border that you will crimp with a fork to seal.

- Brush the top of each calzone with the egg wash.
- Sprinkle each top with Parmesan cheese and Italian Seasoning.

- Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees. I placed my tray on the lowest rack, you do not want your dough to brown too quickly. Cook for 6-7 min flipping once in the middle of cooking.
- Serve hot & enjoy!

Tips & Tricks
- Make sure your dough circles are large enough to hold the filling, but not too full — overfilling can cause them to burst.
- If you want a crispier crust, let the dough sit at room temp for a bit before shaping.
- Use parchment paper or lightly spray your air fryer tray to keep the calzones from sticking.
- These freeze really well! Just prep and freeze before cooking, then air fry straight from frozen with a couple of extra minutes.
- Want to mix it up? Add pepperoni, sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or cooked sausage inside.

What is a “Package of ready made Pizza Dough”? How many calzones do you get out of it? TIA
most supermarkets sell ready made pizza dough in the refrigerator section, some are fresh from pizza places and Pillsbury makes some as well.
Melissa, don’t forget to copy edit your posts. It should say… Lay your pizza DOUGH on a lightly floured surface. I had to look twice at what you’ve written there. Not a big deal but lots of folks will think.. lay a pizza down? Just a thought.
fixed, thank you so much for pointing it out. 🙂
