This Trader Joe’s Strawberry Latte is creamy, sweet, fluffy, packed with real strawberry flavor, and honestly tastes like something straight from an expensive coffee shop. The combination of espresso, sweet strawberry cold foam (made with Trader Joe’s Whipped Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread), and creamy milk creates the most delicious strawberries and cream style latte that feels incredibly fancy while being shockingly easy to make at home.

Trader Joe’s Strawberry Latte

After my Trader Joe’s Carrot Cake Latte completely blew my mind with how delicious the whipped cream cheese cold foam turned out, I immediately started dreaming up more Trader Joe’s latte creations. The second I spotted Trader Joe’s Whipped Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread in stores, I practically ran to grab it because I already had a vision in my head of exactly what I wanted this drink to become.

The final secret that made this recipe absolute perfection was adding freeze dried strawberries. Not only did they boost the strawberry flavor dramatically, but they also created the prettiest natural pink color for the cold foam. I pulsed the freeze dried strawberries in my Ninja blender, set aside a few small strawberry pieces for topping the drink, then blended the rest into a fine powder. Mixing that powder into the whipped strawberry cream cheese and heavy cream transformed this latte into something seriously special.

The strawberry cold foam slowly melts into the espresso creating the dreamiest creamy strawberry coffee flavor in every sip. I topped mine with a few chopped freeze dried strawberry pieces and it added the perfect finishing touch, although it is completely optional. If you love fun coffee shop drinks, Trader Joe’s finds, or viral inspired recipes, this Trader Joe’s Strawberry Latte is going to become your newest obsession.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is that it feels creative and unique while still being incredibly simple to make. The whipped strawberry cream cheese does so much of the work for you, while the freeze dried strawberries elevate the flavor into something that truly tastes intentional and well balanced instead of overly sweet or artificial.

Ingredients

  • • Double shot of espresso or 2 to 4 ounces strong coffee
  • • You can also use 1 tablespoon Nescafe Gold Espresso mixed with hot water
  • • Brown sugar to taste
  • • 1 tablespoon Trader Joe’s Whipped Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread
  • • 3 to 4 tablespoons heavy cream
  • • 1/3 cup freeze dried strawberries, blended into approximately 1½ to 2 teaspoons powder plus about 1 tablespoon slightly chopped pieces for garnish
  • • Milk, skim milk, or half and half to taste
  • • Ice

Instructions

Add the freeze dried strawberries to a blender or Ninja blender. Pulse once or twice to break the strawberries into smaller pieces. Remove about 1 tablespoon of the slightly chopped strawberry pieces and set aside for topping the latte later. Continue blending the remaining strawberries until they become a fine powder.

  • If using Nescafe Gold Espresso, add 1 tablespoon to a glass. Stir in brown sugar to taste, then pour in hot water. I like using about 4 ounces of water for a slightly larger drink, but you can use 2 ounces for a stronger flavor.
  • If using brewed espresso or strong coffee, simply pour it into your glass and stir in brown sugar to taste.
  • In a separate cup, combine the Trader Joe’s Whipped Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread, heavy cream, and approximately 1½ to 2 teaspoons of the freeze dried strawberry powder. Use a frother to blend until smooth, fluffy, and creamy.
  • Add ice to your espresso.
  • Add your milk of choice to taste.

Spoon or pour the strawberry cold foam over the drink.

Top with the reserved freeze dried strawberry pieces if you want to take it over the top.

Tips & Tricks

• Freeze dried strawberries are the key to boosting both the flavor and color naturally

• Pulse the strawberries first so you can reserve some small pieces for topping the latte

• Blend the remaining freeze dried strawberries into a powder for the smoothest cold foam

• A handheld frother works best for blending the cold foam until smooth and fluffy

• Use cold heavy cream for the thickest and creamiest foam texture

• Start with a small amount of brown sugar and adjust sweetness to your taste

• For stronger coffee flavor, use less water with the instant espresso

• Let the whipped cream cheese sit out for a few minutes if it feels too firm to blend smoothly

• Whole milk, skim milk, oat milk, or half and half all work well in this recipe

• This drink is best served immediately while the foam is fresh and fluffy

FAQs

Yes. You can pour the strawberry foam over hot espresso or coffee instead of serving it over ice.

Fresh strawberries can water down the foam slightly. Freeze dried strawberries work best because they add concentrated flavor without extra liquid.

I highly recommend them because they dramatically improve both the strawberry flavor and the pink color of the cold foam.
