  • Place the lid on the electric pressure cooker and set the valve to sealing. Program the electric pressure cooker to “pressure cook” or “manual” for 5 minutes. When the cooking cycle is complete, allow the electric pressure cooker to naturally release the pressure for 10 minutes before performing a quick release of the remaining pressure.
  • Carefully remove the lid. If there is too much sauce, press “cancel” and then “saute.” Cook, stirring often, until the liquid has evaporated.
  • Serve over buns or baked potatoes.

Storage

How long is sloppy joe meat good for?

Your leftover sloppy joe meat will last up to 4 days in the fridge when stored in an airtight container.

This sloppy joe meat freezes really well! Just make it according to the recipe and let it completely cool. Once cooled you can place it in a freezer bag and freeze. This will last about 3 months. When you are ready to enjoy, thaw in the fridge overnight and reheat.

Can you thicken Sloppy Joes?

If you love a thicker sauce with your Sloppy Joe you aren’t alone! To thicken the sauce you will want to let a little of the water out of the pot once the pressure cooking is done.

If this still doesn’t do the trick, create a slurry with 1 teaspoon of cornstarch and 1-2 Tablespoon cold water. Add this to your mix and then saute it for about 1 minute. Be sure you stir it the whole time to prevent burning.
