Tips Tricks and FAQs
- You can increase the amount of garlic that you add to your hummus. If you are a lover of garlic you can increase the amount to 1 whole clove. Just remember since it is raw it will have a bolder flavor than you are used to when it is cooked. If you are unsure how much garlic to add, follow the recipe and taste it in step 4 and add more at that time if you prefer.
- Add a little flavor to your hummus by adding a teaspoon of cumin, paprika, or sumac to the recipe.
- To make this homemade hummus recipe really authentic you want to puree the ingredients until they are almost smooth, yet still keeping some of the texture.
- You want to use a really high quality olive oil when making this dish.
- If you want to make this healthier by using less oil you can use half olive oil and half water.
- If you find that your hummus is too thick you can add a little bit of olive oil or water to it.
Storage
You will want to store your homemade hummus in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.
