Essential Oil Bug Repellent Spray
It is true that some people are tastier to mosquitoes than others. I often wondered about this as I was getting mauled by mosquitoes.
Over-the-counter bug spray is not an option for us so I have used essential oils to keep the mosquitoes at bay.
I have had great success using essential oils and this DIY Essential Oils Bug Repellent Spray was created in desperation to give my equally delicious son some relief that could be kept in his backpack.
What Essential Oils To Use For Bug Repellent
These essential oils are wonderful for warding off pesky flying bugs. You then mix with other ingredients to create a spray.
How to Make
Step 1: In a spray bottle or even a bowl mix all your essential oils, witch hazel, water and Argan oil together.
Step 2: Put bug spray in a spray bottle or if you already poured in, Shake it up.
Step 3: Spritz the mixture all over your body before you head outdoors to enjoy nature.
You will need to shake before each use as the mixture can separate as it sits.
Best Way to Store
When you use quality oils you will find that the oils will eat and break down plastic. It is best to store any essential oil items in glass containers.
Also storing essential oils in dark containers away from direct sunlight is important as well, you will find long exposure to the sun can lessen the oils potency.
How Long Will This Store For
Since these ingredients are all items that have a long shelf life you can essentially store it indefinitely.
The biggest thing is looking at expiration on witch hazel or the Argan oil. The essential oils will last forever.
What Is Best Brand of Essential Oils to Buy
This is a debate for sure. You are welcome to use whatever brand you enjoy. You can find oils on Amazon, but Rocky Mountain, DoTerra, or evening Young Living.
All oils vary in terms of quality. So it is up to you on what you can budget and prefer to buy. I don’t want to steer you one way or another.
