Tips Tricks and FAQs
- Sweet Baby Ray’s is my go-to BBQ sauce for Lil Smokies. You can use your favorite BBQ sauce if you prefer, but I have found that thicker sauces work better with this recipe.
- If you prefer you can cook these on low for 4 hours. Once cooked, set your slow cooker to keep warm to keep them warm throughout your whole gathering.
- If you don’t have liquid smoke or don’t prefer it, you can use Worcestershire sauce in its place or omit it altogether.
- You don’t have to stir these halfway through the cooking process, but I find that it helps keep everything mixed evenly. Just be sure to stir it prior to serving.
- There’s no need to heat up the brown sugar or other ingredients before adding them. They will dissolve in the cooking process.
