Tips Tricks and FAQs
- When making candied bacon, you want to use thick sliced bacon.
- You want to be sure to not overlap your bacon on the tray. If you have to, you can cook your candied bacon in 2 batches.
- If you want to make this spicier, add ½ tsp of crushed red pepper flakes and ¼ tsp of cayenne pepper to your maple syrup and brown sugar.
- Do not skip using parchment paper or aluminum foil on the trays. Cleaning up candied bacon directly on the tray is not fun, trust me from experience I know.
- Be sure to leave room in between the pieces of bacon as they cook.
- Let your candied bacon sit for about 15 minutes before enjoying it after it cooks. This allows the glaze to finish setting for a perfect piece of candied bacon.
