What is a Bahama Mama made of?

It consists of dark and light rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice, and grenadine that is served over ice. Typically it is garnished with oranges, pineapples, and cherries.

How to Make a Bahama Mama

  • Fill a shaker with ice cubes.
  • Pour in dark rum, light rum & coconut rum.

  • Add the pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice & grenadine.
  • Shake well.
  • Pour over ice.
  • Garnish with orange slices & cherries.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • When making this drink the quality of the rum matters. The dark rum should be aged a bit with a nice rich flavor. 
  • Use freshly squeezed lemon when making this drink. It makes a huge difference rather than using the pre-squeezed lemon. 
  • The grenadine gives the drink a nice rich red color as well as a little bit of sweetness, don’t skip this ingredient in your drink. 
  • Feel free to make a big batch of this. Just be sure to keep the ratios all the same.

Yes, you can make a non-alcoholic Bahama mama. Just omit the alcohol. To give the drink that nice coconut flavor try adding coconut simple syrup. 

Can I make a frozen Bahama mama?

Yes! You can make a frozen Bahama mama. Just add all the ingredients into your blender including the ice and blend to your desired consistency.

  • 2oz Dark Rum
  • 2oz Light Rum
  • 1oz Coconut Rum
  • 2oz Pineapple Juice
  • 2oz Orange Juice
  • 1/2oz Lemon Juice
  • Dash Grenadine
  • Orange Slice (garnish)
  • Cherry (garnish)
  • Ice Cubes

Instructions
