Add in parmesan cheese.

Add in italian seasoning.

Simmer for 3-5 minutes until your sauce starts to thicken.

Nestle your cabbage wedges back into your pan (if it is oven safe)

If your pan is not oven safe, just transfer your cabbage to an oven safe pan and pour your sauce over the cabbage.

Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 45 minutes. If your cabbage is thick, you may need to cook as long as an hour.

Tips & Tricks

  • Make sure to sear the cabbage well. That light charring adds so much flavor and really makes a difference in the final dish.
  • Do not skip scraping the bottom of the pan. Those browned bits from the cabbage add incredible depth to the sauce.
  • Cut your cabbage wedges evenly so they cook at the same rate.
  • If your cabbage is on the thicker side, plan for a longer bake time so it becomes perfectly tender.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor and smoothest sauce.
  • If your skillet is not oven safe, simply transfer everything to a baking dish before baking.
