Mojitos are one of my favorite drinks to enjoy during the summer. It may have something to do with my herb garden exploding with the mint leaves or the fact that I just can’t get enough of the combination of lime and mint. Whatever it is, this Mojito cocktail with a lime simple syrup is the drink you will fall in love with all summer long. As an added bonus you can even make a non-alcoholic mojito for the kids!

Tips Tricks and FAQs
- Get creative with the sparkling water. I typically use Plain sparkling water, add lime, cucumber, and even passion fruit are all delicious to use as well. It’s fun to experiment.
- You could swap out the rum for vodka or tequila if you prefer.
- You could also use plain simple syrup instead of lime simple syrup if that is your preference.
- Short on time? Buy simple syrup at the store and use that instead.
- If you are serving this at a party you can make a large batch and keep it in a pitcher. Unless you are pouring the drinks immediately from the pitcher, you will want to wait to add the sparkling water until the drink will be served.
Storage
This drink is best enjoyed right away after you add in the sparkling water.
If you would like to make a big batch and store it for later you can mix together the rum, lime juice, and simple syrup and place it in the fridge.
When you are ready to serve you would then want to add the sparkling water.
You can make the lime simple syrup ahead of time.
As far as everything else, I try to make the drink right before serving it for the best results. If you do want to make it ahead of time, mix all the ingredients except for the sparking water. Add this right before serving.
Yes, if you have any leftover lime simple syrup you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Yes, you can make mojitos without a muddler. You can use a spoon, the bottom of a wooden spoon, a mortar and pestle, or a wooden skewer.
