How to Make Lucky Charms Cupcakes
- Prepare cake mix per recipe and add green food coloring until desired shade is reached
- Bake cupcakes and cool completely
- Use a spoon to carve out the center of each cupcake
- Fill the opening with Lucky Charms marshmallows
- Pipe frosting on the top of each cupcake
- Sprinkle on gold edible glitter and themed decorations
- Serve and enjoy!
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- Rather than sprinkles and glitter on top you can also use Lucky Charms cereal pieces.
- Be sure to let your cupcakes cool completely prior to spooning out the middle. This will take about 30 minutes.
- You can use a homemade frosting that you love or one that is premade. Any variety will taste great as long as it is whtie. Cream cheese is a favorite in our house.
- If you prefer you can use a butter cake mix or a yellow cake mix as well.
- You can omit the food coloring if you prefer.
Storage
Store your cupcakes at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Over time the lucky charms may start to become soggy.
Can I make these ahead of time?
You can absolutely bake your cupcakes ahead of time and let them cool. Once cooled, place them in an airtight container. I would wait to spoon out the middle, fill, and frost until you are about ready to serve them.
