One of my favorite things to do is to always stock up on chuck roast when it comes on sale. There are so many great dishes (like this one, our crock pot roast, and our Instant Pot French Onion Pot Roast) that you can make with it. I store it in my freezer and then pull it out when I am ready to use it. You can easily find a chuck roast for around $10.00 when it is on sale and that is a huge win for a budget friendly meal when you are serving 6 hungry people.

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • If your meat is frozen, you can still make this, you will just need to add some additional cooking time to the dish.
  • Feel free to add even more flavor by adding onions and garlic to the dish. If you choose to do this, you will want to saute it prior to adding all the other ingredients to the instant pot.
  • Cooking time will vary based on the chunks of your meat. If you have bigger chunks of meat you may need to cook it for 60 minutes. If your meat chunks are smaller, 35 minutes should be fine.
