We love to grill, but I am not sure when we will be dusting off our grill after this long drawn-out winter. So, I came up with this easy and flavorful Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi Steak Kabobs recipe that will make it feel like it came fresh from the grill. The marinade is a mix of soy sauce, Worcestershire, brown sugar for sweetness, spicy mustard, and more.
The Best Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi Steak Kabobs
These steak kabobs do pack a punch in the heat factor. If you want you can always tame it down by skipping the sriracha and red pepper flakes. Or if you can handle the heat then add a splash more to taste. Simple marinade, juicy and tender steak, and flavorful vegetables in every bite.
What Steak Is Best for Kabobs
Sirloin Steak, flat iron, top sirloin, or even London broil are some of the steaks that many reach for. They can be a cheaper cut of meat with a marinade they tenderize more for that tender and juicy effect.
If your store doesn’t carry these, just talk to the butcher in the meat department to direct you to the right cut of beef.
Best Vegetables For Steak Kabobs
This is where you can get creative and use any vegetables that you and your family enjoy. I will share some ideas with you below for you to consider.
- Zucchini
- Summer Squash
- Onions
- Peppers
- Tomatoes (we like cherry tomatoes)
- Whole Mushrooms
- Or take a sweet aspect and do something like pineapple.
The sky is the limit as to what to pair with your steak. Just remember the vegetables will cook down and some become really soft. You want to make sure they hold up during the cooking process. Another thing is to make sure the flavors pair well with the steak.
How to Keep Wooden Skewers From Burning When Cooked
If you are using wooden skewers for your kabobs, soak them in water for around 10-20 minutes. Making sure all areas of the kabob get soaked in water. You do this because it will help the wood not burn up as it is getting cooked. If you skip this step your kabobs will literally burn up and your kabobs will fall apart.
How Do You Make Kabobs
Start by creating your marinade. This is what is going to flavor your meat and vegetables. Create the marinade and then marinate meat to really lock in all the flavor and juices.
Soak your kabob sticks in water, and then once ready, start layering on the meat and vegetables of your choice.
Heat your Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi and follow the cooking directions below!
What to Serve with Steak Kabobs
The beauty of steak kabobs is they can be a meal in themselves! But, if you want to create more flavors and pair with other sides here are some great ones to consider.
- Serve with rice
- Mashed potatoes or even potato salad
- Vegetable or pasta salad
- Corn on the cob
- Baked Beans
Or any other favorite side you enjoy. When we have them and the time of year, we will depend on what we serve up. Those are all some of our family’s favorite side dishes to pair with kabobs.
I hope you all enjoy this easy steak kabob recipe that can be made in your Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi in the crisping lid. A really fun twist to your weeknight dinners!
