Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies
Nothing says fall more than Apples! Between Apple Cider Donuts, Apple French Toast Casserole, and of course apple pie I am ready for fall to be here already! One of my favorite things in the entire world is these Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies! They are flaky, crispy, and filled with a delicious Apple Pie filling. I love that these are easily made, cook in minutes, and can be enjoyed right in the palm of your hands!
How to Make Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies
1. Roll out the pie crust and use a round press to cut out circles.
2. Take half a spoonful of apple pie filling and place it in the middle of half of your circles.
3. Place the remaining circles on top of the apple topped circles and use the press to mend them together.
4. Egg wash each apple pie.
5. Place in the air fryer for 6-8 minutes at 350 degrees.
6. Remove from air fryer and transfer to a cooling rack.
7. Cover in icing.
8. Serve & enjoy.

Storage
You will want to store your leftover hand pies in the fridge in an airtight container. These will last up to 3 days.
Freezer
You can also freeze your leftover hand pies. Lay them on a tray lined with parchment paper and allow them to freeze. Once frozen, place them in a freezer-safe bag and freeze for up to 2 months.
When you are ready to enjoy, place them in the fridge to thaw and then reheat or eat cold.
Make Ahead
You can easily make these ahead of time. Assemble your hand pies and place on a tray lined with parchment paper. Be sure they are not touching. And then wrap the whole tray tightly with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge until you are ready to cook and enjoy.
Can you cook a frozen hand pie in the Air Fryer?
Yes! You can cook a frozen hand pie in the Air Fryer. You will not need to thaw these first, but you will need to increase the cooking time a bit.
How do I prevent filling from falling out of my apple hand pies?
The number one mistake when making apple hand pies is overfilling them. Be sure that you only use half a scoop and add it to the middle so that you can seal up the edges nicely.
How do I prevent hand pies from becoming soggy?
If you find that your hand pies are becoming soggy, cut vents in the top of them. This allows the hot steam to escape during the cooking process rather than it being trapped in your hand pie and making the crust soggy.
