How to Make USA Flag cupcakes
- Bake cupcakes per recipe and cool completely

- Then alternate using the red and white frosting to pipe the stripes, beginning with red
- Place white sprinkle stars in the blue section
- Enjoy!
Tips Tricks and FAQs
- While I love to use buttercream frosting, you can use any flavor of frosting that you love as long as it is white.
- To make these cupcakes it is easiest if you have three piping bags and 3 star tips that are all the same size. This allows you to alternate the frosting on each cupcake without swapping the tips or trying to leave gaps to fill in with the other colors.
- The more food coloring you use the brighter your red and blue will be. Gel food color typically makes more vibrant colors.
- In order to make your American Flag look awesome you may want to use a toothpick to etch your cupcake top. Make a box for where the blue will be and then make lines for the stripes for you to follow as a guide.
- When it comes to placing the stars you want to be very careful, your finger can easily smudge the blue. Try using tweezers to place each star.
Storage
You will want to store these at room temperature. They will last up to 4 days.
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes, you can make the cupcakes ahead of time.
In fact, if you want to make the actual cupcake weeks in advance you can just freeze them until you are ready to use them. Frost the day you plan to serve them.
If you want to make them and frost them you can up to 24 hours in advance. Once frosted, use a cupcake stacker to keep fresh.
