Tips Tricks and FAQs
- The secret to this recipe is a tart apple. I mix Honeycrisp and Granny Smith but you can easily use just Granny Smith apples. Using two varies gives some variation in flavor.
- Be sure you leave the peels on. This is one of the reasons why so many people love it! Leaving the peels on also helps the apples not fall apart and become apple sauce.
- If you choose, you can use an apple slicer/ corer if you prefer.
- When possible use the juice of a real lemon rather than the lemon juice concentrate.
Storage
If you have leftovers you will want to store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You will want to warm up in the microwave until the desired temperature.
How should I eat these?
These apples are so good on their own or easily paired with your favorite dish. I of course love serving them over vanilla ice cream as well!
