As a Mom of four boys Back to School has becomes a matter of survival. Between squeezing in all of the normal back to school prep, getting your hands on the supply list, shopping for the supplies, shopping for clothes, getting haircuts, figuring out bus stops, all of the things that just consume us this time of year. Here are some of my favorite Back to School Meal Prep Tips & Tricks *sponsored because at this point I am a pro.
Back To School Kitchen Tips
With four boys and lots of years under the belt surviving back to school, the most important thing I have learned is to eliminate any unnecessary stress and time sucks.
One of my biggest time sucks is preparing a healthy meal for my family. While this is a huge time suck it also is one of the most important things for a successful school year.
Ways To Tackle The School Year
My biggest thing is learning the tips and tricks that work for you and your home. I find when meals are taken care of, things are prepped ahead there is a lot less stress weighing on me.
Here are some of my parent tips for a less stressful back to school.
- Meal prep breakfast items for quick reheats in the morning.
- Create freezer meals that are fast for busy weeknights.
- Invest in quality appliances that help speed up prep work on meals.
- Let your kids get in the kitchen and help when they can learn life skills and speed up prep.
- Take a day and meal prep for a week, month, etc. Plan and conquer
Meal Prep and Freezer Meals
How do I meal prep? I grab my Instant Pot to meal prep and create freezer meals, which have been completely life changing for the sanity and success of our Back to School routine. Now I have healthy delicious meals ready to cook on a second’s notice.
While meal prep is absolutely amazing, it also work. If you are going to take on the task of doing meal prep, you will want to prepare for a success.
Kitchen Accessories To Help Get The Job Done
Skip the coffee shop and invest in a Keurig K-Cafe, Single serve K-Cup Pod Coffee, Latte, Cappuccino Maker. Not only does this save me time from leaving the home to get my coffee fix, I also save a ton of money. You get that coffee shop quality for a fraction of the time.
I made myself the most delicious iced caramel latte just the way I like it.
Chopping Veggies in Seconds
After a few tries at meal prepping without a Cuisinart, I purchased the Cuisinart 4 cup mini prep plus electric processor and let me just say I am in LOVE! This little beauty has a brushed stainless finish that adds a touch of elegance on my counter. The dishwasher-safe parts make cleanup a snap. This in itself has improved my meal prep tremendously, I really get a kick out of using it too!
This took less than a minute!
Do you know how many finely chopped carrots you can sneak in your tomato sauce for those picky eaters?! LOTS!! This has been a really wise investment.
Quality Cutting Board
For those things that you still need to give a slicing like lemons, I absolutely fell in love with this Mertz cutting board. It is so gorgeous it just makes me happy.
