Tips Tricks and FAQs
- If you are using an Air Fryer similar to the Instant Vortex with two tiers of trays you will want to switch the positions of the trays as well as flip your chicken. You might also need to add additional cooking time when using this method.
- The longer you soak your chicken in the buttermilk the better. You can safely marinate it for up to 24 hours.
- You can easily add a little spice by adding some cayenne pepper into the flour mixture or hot sauce to the buttermilk.
- Be sure to not overlap the pieces of chicken. You want the air to be able to circulate nicely in the Air Fryer.
- You can easily use any part of the chicken that you would like that has skin on it. You will have to adjust the cooking time based on the size of the chicken you are cooking.
Storage
You will want to store your leftover chicken in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Once placed in the fridge it will lose some of its crispiness.
Reheating
You can enjoy your leftover fried chicken cold (yes, a guilty pleasure of mine) or you can reheat it in the Air Fryer at 370 degrees for about 10 minutes. This will help it become crispy again.
